Indeed I don't understand either. I've learnt that many people from my school days got married in the past few years.

But I'm confused about it.

Others suggest to me that I will understand when I find the right person!

I find that a lot of people say we already live together what's the difference? The difference to me is the public declaration I made to my wife to be wholly committed to her in front of my family and friends. That they would encourage me ,give me support, good advice, wisdom to stick it out. Marriage is hard work two people who are different sexes, with different upbringings, different likes/dislikes. personalities etc. Each totally Unique coming together under one roof, for the rest of our lives. This sounds like there's more to this than just a piece of paper. To a girlfriend i have never made a commitment like i made to my wife. To a girlfriend i can break up with, walk away. I made a vow to my wife i gave her my word to love her through anything. I intend to be a man of my word. Again it's not easy, it's the hardest and the most rewarding thing i've done. Hope this lessens your confusion
