We were created to worship God, to inhabit this beautiful earth He has created, but He also gave us free will. Lucifer was his name before he fell, wanted to be equal with God. That was his mistake and will be bound for 1000 years and is attempting to take as many with him to the pit of hell. I think I already answered your question though.
