True. If you own the property, you own everything under it including the mineral rights. If someone wants to use the subsurface, they would normally have to pay you for an "easement" to do so.
Look up Robert A. Heinlein's short story, "The Man Who Sold the Moon," for an idea of who owns the airspace over your land. It is included in the anthology "The Past THrough Tomorrow."
