The story is that Jasmine is a special gift from God to humans, so they can feel what paradise smells like.

The story of jasmine
There is one, its about a beautiful girl that lives in japan and has a father and a grandmother but she dies and jasmine is upset, she becomes the gesha girl that is known through out the hole of china and wins a man called sandoi-- made some reserch on what that means in english (ben) she falls in love with sandoi and is afraid to kiss him because he is her first kiss, she losses every thing and keeps sandoi-- but htne years later the gasha group need her back because the prsidant whants to see her beauty,, so I think that i why your mum and dad called you jasmine because of that story or because the flower is as beautiful as the jasmine in the story
