if you are having trouble staying asleep make sure you dont eat within half an hour before bed cuz digestion can disrupt melatonin levels, which is the hormone that helps you get to, and stay, asleep. make sure you have an empty bladder and dont drink within 20 minutes before bed. Its always a good idea to try relaxation techniques before bed and if that doesnt help try taking 50 to 100mg of Vitamin B6 per day. It can help prevent insomnia. Your body needs adequate B6 in order to produce serotonin which is required for the sleep-triggering hormone melatonin.
Excellent sources of vitamin B6 include spinach, bell peppers, and turnip greens.
Very good food sources of vitamin B6 include garlic, tuna, cauliflower, mustard greens, banana, celery, cabbage, crimini mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, kale, collard greens, Brussels sprouts, cod and chard.
Or, you could always go to your local drug store and pick up a vitamin supplement. Hope that helps.
