belle im not sure its the uv rays u should be concerned about.. ultra violet rays from the sun with in reason r fine however to much can do harm.. infact most common lotion does more harm then good... if ur in a tanning bed its the rays u want in a short period to give u the tan instead of laying outside for hrs and hrs.. so really u just need to keep ur skin moist with a lotion perhaps after u shower after the tan...and just remember dont over due the tanning
