Trees are considered as the most valuable gift that we are blessed with. It allows us to breathe, something we can’t think of living without. It regulates the earth’s water cycle hence is responsible for atmospheric balance .It takes in carbon dioxide that not only prevents extensive green house effect leading to global warming but also keeps atmosphere cool. It’s a habitat to various birds and others species that directly interact with food cycle. It keeps the soil tight to prevent erosion. It’s indispensable for our existence here at earth.
Think if all trees vanish. No oxygen, it will be disastrous. No rain, cyclones will clean up everything, the temperature will increase many folds, the polar caps will melt that will increase sea levels submerging whole world. It will be a havoc or hell.
So it’s not only our need but also responsibility to dedicate some of our time towards tree care. In what follows next we discuss some healthy tree care steps.
1. Trees are very delicate and need special preconditions of its own for successful growth. Water, soil, atmosphere and humidity everything must be taken care of. The containers used for plant growth are a major issue here. If plants are directly grown in a field about half of the roots gets spoiled so it is recommended to use fabric containers as used in most of the nurseries for your saplings. Now transplantation from container to field roots should be straightened up gently for faster growth of plant.
2. What comes next is plant growth. Keep a balanced sunlight level for your plant, neither too high nor too low. Also don’t put a lot of water, the roots may remain submerged and fail to get food from soil. Fertilizers should be used only after consulting a horticulture expert. Never cut or curl the roots and remove soil from trunk of root.
3. Trimming gives a gentle trendy look to your plant and helps in straight growth. Take care of stubs that may remain after trimming. It might attract pathogens.
4. Trees must be pruned for its flower to bloom properly. Remove all the dead branches you find. It adds to scenery of larger trees.
5. Never try to top a plant to reduce its size. It may lead to uneven branching and unshaped stems. The beauty will be lost.
