There is a story behind the word lesbians. There was a lady named Sappho who wrote a letter to her women friend recognizing all her feelings about her and as Sappho lived in Greek island of Lesbos so the place has got a different value in the dictionary. This is only a story but today it has become the reality. It is very normal and natural that a woman can love another woman like the husband –wife do even they can also enjoy their sexual life without any social boundaries. Recently in India the gay sex has been legalized by the Government. It is a matter of fact that in the era of liberalization we all have equal rights to choose our life partner. We can not suppress our feelings, our emotions only to gain the social acceptance. Now in our society everyone has become much matured and people also have become less interfering than before so people have started accepting this fact of life.

Who is lesbian and who is not?

There is always a controversy behind this question. Different people have diffrent views about this. The basic difference is that the woman who has a liking toward the same sex is called a lesbian (it is wrong concept that the inhabitants of the Aegean Paradise of Lesbos is known as the Lesbians). For decades people have giggled about the coincidence of the sexual orientation and the Greek Island.

Now the people of the same sex can marry each other and there is no harm if they live a conjugal life after marriage. The lesbians normally do not like the men from their heart and they prefer woman more than a man as their sex partner also. Pure lesbians do not have any sexual feelings toward the opposite sex, i.e , the man. They do not trust man as their partner. According to many lesbians you should choose your life partner very cautiously, you can not have a sex with someone whom you do not trust from your heart. There are many lesbians who have to marry a boy only because of the family pressure but very few of them can maintain the marital relationship till the end. Some lesbians who could not get the right to choose their life partners are still fighting with their mind and sacrificing for their families. This is very wrong and who are doing this are against the human rights. A familiy means a support , which is incomparable to anything in this world. If in a family someone has liking for the same sex then the other members should always accept this fact, they should understand that every person has a different sexual orientation and the mindset also varies person to person. We can not force someone to marry a person whom he/she hates from mind.

There are many countries in this world where still the lesbians are fighting to get their own rights .There are many lesbians who have hidden their feelings or suppressed their feelings only because of the society. Let us help them to explore their feelings and views to live a happy and healthy life.
