HEART QURAN AND NUCLEAR PHENOMENON

The Quran says “Woe to every backbiter, defamer, who amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it (against the future). He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. Nay, for verily he will be cast into Al-Hotama. And what could teach thee what Al-Hotama is? It is fire of Allah, enkindled, which leapeth up onto the hearts. It is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns".
(Quran-CIV-Al-Hotama)
The Quran says "Hotama is a fire which leaps up into the hearts". The atomists have used the word nucleus, while the Quran has used the word "Heart". Nucleus and Heart are synonymous. Arab lexicographers have translated the nucleus as "Heart", and there exists characteristic and functional resemblance between the two. The death of either the nucleus or the heart means the death of the body. Delicacy and sensitivity is the feature associated with both. It is the atomists themselves that call the nucleus as heart. Edward Teller, in 1939 spoke of obtaining energy from the heart of atom in a lecture on atomic energy delivered by him, (Vide the Hydrogen Bomb by James. R. Sheply and Clay Blair Jr. pages 48-49) while passages like the following meet one's eye when reading the standard text books of atomic physics:-
“Each fast particle comes from the break up of very heart of a single atom _- The Nucleus -- of the radioactive material".

And:-
“How many heartbeats are in the life-time of a radioactive nucleus which lasts only billionth of a second".

Even the part of the atomic reactor wherein the process of the atomic energy generation takes place is called the heart of reactor (Vide Our Nuclear future by Edward Teller and Dr. Albert L. Latter 1958, from a photograph of the reactor).
Atomic fire leaps up onto the hearts. After the identity between the nucleus and the heart is established, let us show how the atomic fire leaps up onto the hearts. Both in fission and fusion process of the generation of the atomic energy it is the nucleus of the atom that is involved. In the fission process the atomic particle leaps up onto the nucleus of the atom, and disintegrates it, and energy is released. For instance the Neutron leaps up onto the Uranium-235 atom and ejects two neutrons from the nucleus that is the heart of the atom. The broken nucleus like the broken heart is disintegrated, and energy is released. The two ejected neutrons in turn leap up onto the nucleus of other uranium atoms in the lump, and do exactly as the first neutron had done, to wit, that they attack the nucleus of an atom each, and eject therefrom two neutrons each. The nucleus is disintegrated and divided and energy is released. Thus the neutrons keep doubling and ejecting the neutrons from the atomic nuclei and the operation continues till the whole of the lump of uranium explodes. In fusion process the nuclei of several small atoms, say four, are crushed together and the energy is released. Fusion of an atom is not possible until a heat with a temperature of the order of millions of degrees is available. To produce such a temperature is not within the reach of chemical processes. Atomic fire is therefore required and is provided by means of a fission device. The heat thus produced is directed onto the fusile material, say hydrogen. This process is called as the thermonuclear process and perhaps provides the best example of atomic fire's leaping up onto the hearts. Hydrogen bomb is the example of the thermonuclear process. A fission bomb is placed inside the fusile material, and hydrogen is spread around it in a shell. When the fission bomb is detonated, the tremendous heat liberated leaps up onto the nuclei that is the hearts of the hydrogen atoms and fuses them in groups of four, and the energy is released. And there we see very clearly how the atomic fire leaps upon onto the hearts. This nuclear trait is exclusively of atomic fire and is its distinct feature. However, by just uttering the name of nucleus, the point of leaping upon the hearts is established, because the nuclear energy is the energy produced from the nucleus that is hearts.
Atomic radiations too leap up onto the nuclei that is hearts. Atomic radiations attack the nuclei of atoms. In inanimate matter they cause transmutations of atoms by disintegrating and changing the order of the nuclei. In living bodies they eject nucleons from the nuclei of atoms, while in the nucleus of the cell they break the chromosomes.
The effect of radiations is beyond the brain at the level of the heart of life itself. Radiation's effect the coordination of function at the level where it is beyond the control of the brain. It may be said that they attack the very heart of life itself.
Radiation's exceptional attraction toward all that is related to heart in the body. The decided attraction of radiations for all that which is related to heart in the body as against the brain, the nerves and muscles is a fact. Bone-marrow which forms blood corpuscles, and also all the blood forming organs are far more sensitive to the effect of radiation than the brain, the nerves, and the muscles. Further it may be noted that all the multicellular organism, that as a rule are possessed of more elaborated and more perfected circulatory and respiratory system than all the unicellular organism, are more sensitive to the effects of radiation than the unicellular organism. The relation of the circulatory and respiratory system to heart through blood is obvious. It may further be noted that the action of radiations in the absence of oxygen is retarded. And again the relation of oxygen to heart through blood is well known. Just as is the relation of blood with heart.
The heat flash and radiations of atomic bomb explosion too leap up onto the nuclei that is hearts. Heat-flash of the atomic bomb explosion burns the skin of the exposed persons dark or brown, but it has no time to penetrate further into the body of its victims, yet it kills those who happened to be within a certain distance from the zero point by applying shock to the heart of the victim. The atomic radiations whether emitted by the explosion itself or whether emitted by the fission products, also leap up onto the nuclei of the atoms both in the inanimate matter and in the living body, and do also attack the nuclei of the cell and break the cell chromosomes.
Atomic fire a nuclear crusher. The Quran has said "Hotama is a crushing fire which leaps up onto the hearts (Quran-Al-Homaza-104). The atomic fire crushes the nuclei of the atoms; hence it is a nuclear crusher that is the crusher of hearts. Atomic fire is a thermonuclear crusher. The Quran has said" Hotama is a fire which leaps up onto the hearts". The atomists use the term thermonuclear for Hydrogen bomb, for, in the hydrogen bomb, heat is generated by an inner fission device and then the heat is directed onto the outer wrapping of the fusile material, say hydrogen, where the heat impinges on the nuclei of the fusile material, and causes them to fuse together in groups of , say, four. Here we see the atomic fire leaping up onto the nuclei of the atoms of the fusile material in a clear manner. This term thermonuclear proves the anticipative and scientific miracle of the Quran, and the term thermonuclear it is that brings credit to the atomists for the marvel of a term which is indicative of a proper understanding of the phenomenon and the appropriateness in choosing the term to express the phenomenon. The term thermonuclear and the Quran's word, namely, " A fire which leaps up onto the hearts", have been found to be the intertranslation of each other, while the thermonuclear process is the one that shows in the clearest of colours the phenomenon of a fire which can be seen to leap up onto the nuclei that is hearts.
We will bring this point to its end by quoting a little couplet of Wordsworth that contains a sparkling truth in relation to our theme:-
'TO LET A CREED, "says Wordsworth,
BUILT IN THE HEART OF THINGS,
DISSOLVE BEFORE A TWINKLING ATOMY".
Wordsworth lived when the atomic energy as yet was not discovered, nor were its effects manifest in any way, yet the couplet of Wordsworth mean exactly:
"To let the universe built in the nuclear system
Dissolve before the tempting energy

THE PROPHECY OF THE QURAN ABOUT THE ATOMIC HELL

Something unbelievable but in fact a truth is that the Quran has prophesied about the atomic hell. This is a prophecy that is a miracle in the field of atomic science and philosophy of modern atomism, and is a miracle undeniable either by the scientist or the philosopher. This 36 word prophecy has taken me 3000 pages to interpret it in decades at a stretch and it is an irrefutable proof of Quran's divine original, and is like Noah's ark in this fiery deluge of atomism being the sole means to escape this painful atomic end of mankind. The Quran has exposed the reality of this Baconian progress and its logical end, that is the atomic hell in a way that no atomic scientist and no philosopher including Russell hitherto has done. I miss Russell, and I miss Einstein and I miss Sir James Jeans, as the judges and critics. No movement in this world could be effectively conducted against the atomic threat, nor could a religion be completely revived or effectively promulgated without adopting the basic guidelines provided by this prophecy of the Quran. It is, by the grace of Almighty Allah, my own discovery, and knows that this temporal atomic hell is the representation of the eternal atomic hell of the next world called by the Quran as Hotama. They who deserved this temporal atomic hell would also be cast into the eternal atomic hell (Hotama) of the next world, for the causes of both are identical.
QURAN TREATS BACONIAN ATOMISM AND THE ATOMIC HELL
The Quran characterizes the Baconain progress of modern atomism and characterizes the nuclear phenomenon and gives the causes of the appearance of the atomic hell of atomic bombs and radiations to avert the atomic threat. Bacon's philosophy of modern atomism is a complete antithesis of revealed religion. The result of Baconian philosophy.that is this modern progress, a progress unbalanced and unproportional to the basic design of creation has naturally brought this world to the verge of inevitable atomic annihilation. The Quran now takes up the field to extinguish the atomic hell and save the mankind. It says:-
"Woe to every backbiter and defamer, who ammasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it (against the future). He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. Nay! For verily he will be cast into Al-Hotama. And what could teach thee, what Al-Hotama is ? It is fire of Allah enkindled which leapeth up onto their hearts. it is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns".

The temporal atomic hell comprising atomic bombs and radiations is the transient prototype of Al-Hotama which is the eternal atomic hell of the next eternal world.
(1) The Quran says "Backbiter and defamer". Now the doctrines of atomism (both ancient and modern) are a slenderness (of atomism) against the revealed religion. In ancient Greek Atomism, the doctrine of the fortuitous concourse of atoms meant a slanderous denial of the religious doctrine of the divine government of the world, and further the doctrine of the indestructibility of atoms and the consequential eternity of this universe implied an impossibility of resurrection. While the doctrine of the pursuit of natural philosophy as the actual business of man on earth and the prohibition of moral philosophy in the case of modern atomism of Bacon, meant a slanderous denial of the basic religious doctrine of man's trial on earth, thus implying a denial of morality, law, divine government, resurrection and all. The rejection of miraculous and supernatural by the Baconian critics of Bible on the criterion of science and rationalism, and the reduction of the person of Jesus Christ himself to a mere fable is reminiscent of the basic slanderous attitude of the philosophy of atomism. The change of the meanings of the world "propaganda" to slander in this age furnishes peculiarly a proof of the prevalence of slander in this age. In fact this age in itself is conspicuous for the habit of slander, carping, backbiting, defaming in a manner that has been intellectualized. Nothing therein escapes the fangs of slander except wealth. No two persons meet but to slander the third. No subject is discussed except in terms of direct or indirect slander. Critical attitude of modern rationalism has been tempered with slander by the intrinsic slanderous attitude of atomism.
(2). The Quran says " He ammasseth wealth of this world and arrangeth it against the future". And indeed, no more accurate definition and description of this world-wide, continuous, systematic, organized, ever-increasing, and infinite process of wealth-accumulation of this modern progress could be expected. A fact so clear as could hardly need any more explanations. Just observe this modern Baconian industrial and economic set up and people's engrossment in wealth-accumulation.
(3) The Quran says” He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal". The belief of this age in the eternity of this progress of wealth-accumulation is universal and unshakable even now in the presence of the atomic annihilation. So also was the belief of the ancient atomism in the eternity of this universe.
(4) The Quran says" Nay! For verily he will be cast into the Hotama", that is into the atomic crusher. No surer proof now is needed that the belief in the eternity of this progress is false.In the presence of the self-destructive character of this Baconian progress and the presence of the atomic bombs and atomic radiations, and the anarchical exhaustion of harmless resources of energy. The Quran has calculated the course of the process of the Baconian atomistic progress with utmost surety and accuracy. The end of the slandering wealth accumulator, in the atomic hell is a must. And now in the following characterization of nuclear phenomenon by the Quran mark the characteristics which distinguish the atomic phenomenon from all the rest of the phenomena:-
1. The Quran says" Hotama". Hotama literally means a breaker, a crusher, Just as the term BREMSST-RAHLUNG means "breaking radiations". A term applauded by the atomists as highly descriptive when first coined by the Germans for the continuous spectrum of rays. A particular crushing characteristic, let it be remembered, is a distinguishing characteristic of nuclear phenomenon; to be found in none other, chemical, electrical, or gravitational phenomenon. Nuclear energy distinctively is generated by crushing the binding of the nucleus of atom, while no other type of energy is. And absolute crushing takes place. Nucleus once disintegrated can never be rearranged in its original form by any means of synthesis. While in no other phenomenon nucleus is so much touched. And both, the basic building block of the universe, that is "Atom" and the basic unit of life, that is the "Cell" are involved in the process of atomic crushing. Further, nuclear radiations crush the atomic nuclei and cause transmutations of atoms, and break the chromosomes of the cell nuclei. The heat-flash of the atomic bomb explosion crushes the heart of its victims, while the blast crushes buildings; the radiations of atomic bombs crush the atomic nuclei and the cell nuclei irreparably. That the books of atomic physics, are replete with terms like "Bombarding, crushing, smashing, hitting, breaking" etc., and so are the books of Radiobiology replete with phrases like "Target Concept, Direct Action, Indirect Action, Snapping the cable with a bullet, breaking the chromosomes", and sentences like " Radiations hit the cells like the sledge hammer and crush them, and the statement: " It was as incredible as if you fired a 15 inch shell at a piece of tissue paper and it came back and hit you" recorded by Rutherford in his diary as the most incredible event that ever happened to him in his life, after his famous experiment of bombarding the Gold Foil with Alpha particles, clearly indicate on the part of the scientist, a conspicuous realization of the particular feature of crushing observable in the nuclear phenomenon. But mark the phonetic and functional identity between scientist's atomic and Quran's Otamic.The which simply is miraculous.
2. The Quran says "Hotama is fire of Allah". That atomic phenomenon is concerned with energy, and energy is heat, fire etc. is known. But that the atomic phenomenon is the fire of Allah may be proved by the fact that it is the product of certain evils as retributive punishment. Bequerel the discoverer of Radio-activity was the first to experience a burn on his skin next to the pocket in which he carried a phial of Radium. Radio-therapists speak of Cross-fire of radiation, in radiation treatment.
3. The Quran says" Hotama is a fire which leaps up onto the hearts". This again is a particular characteristic of nuclear phenomenon which distinguishes it from every other phenomenon. The point of the Quran that the atomic fire leaps up onto the hearts is proved by merely the utterance of the word " Nuclear". The atomic phenomenon, actually the nuclear phenomenon, has its actions within the nucleus while the word Nucleus and heart both are used by the scientists synonymously, orthodoxically, and Quran is not amiss in using the word "Hearts". The following two examples will suffice:-
(a) "Each fast particle comes from the break up of the very heart of a single atom---the nucleus of the Radioactive material". (Vide: Physics-Physical Science Study Committee-IInd Edition -D.C.Heath and Company Lexington Massachusetts. July 1965, page 130).
(b) “How many nuclear heart-beats are in the life-time of a radioactive nucleus which lasts only billionth of a second". (Ibid-page 21, Short problems).
Teller in 1939 spoke of taking energy from the heart of Atom. The entire field of action of the nuclear phenomenon is in the nuclei. In no other phenomenon the nucleus is ever touched. Both fission and fusion in atomic energy generation occur within the nuclei, but the best spectacle of Fire's leaping up onto the hearts is presented by the thermonuclear process wherein the heart produced by the inner fission device is directed onto the nuclei that is the hearts of the atoms of the outer fusile material. Mark the term, thermonuclear in this context, literally it means heat connected with nucleus (Heart). Nuclear radiations attack the atomic nuclei and cause transmutations of atoms in inanimate matter, and they attack the nuclei of the cells in the living body, wherein they show a remarkable attraction for the heart and all that is related to the heart in the body. Firstly they affect the coordination of the function at the level where it is beyond the control of the brain, that is nearest to the heart. Secondly the bone-marrow and all the blood-forming organs are more sensitive to the effect of radiations than the brain, nerves and muscles. The blood relation of bone-marrow and blood-forming organs with heart is well known. Thirdly the multi-cellular organisms are more sensitive to the effect of radiation than all the unicellular organisms. That the former have a more elaborate circulatory and respiratory system than the latter is known. And known is also the relation between these systems and the heart through blood. Fourthly the action of radiations is retarded in the absence of oxygen, while the relation between oxygen and heart is known through blood. Fifthly the heat-flash of the atomic bomb kills its victims through shock to the heart. As regards this heart-atomism relation Wordsworth was not amiss when he cried:-
"To let a creed built in the heart of things
Dissolve before a twinkling atomy".
2. The Quran says" Hotama is a fire closed in on them". The atomic phenomenon shows distinctive encompassing characteristics. The enclosures of the local and global fallout of the nuclear bomb explosions, and the tenacity of the bone-seeking radioactive materials, and the appearance of cancers six to thirty years after the actual exposure to radiations, and the appearance of the effect in anaphase inspite of the attack of radiation on the cell in the resting stages of the cell, and the encompassment of the whole body by the radiation even if one organ only is irradiated, and the survival of the lethally irradiated frogs for many months instead of dying in the usual time interval that of three to six weeks, if kept in a dormant state at a low temperature just above freezing point, and the appearance of radiation symptoms as soon as these irradiated frogs are warmed up, and the occurrence of their death thereafter in the usual time interval that of three to six weeks, and Alexander Haddow's suggestion that the cancer-producing action of the cancer-producing substances might be the result of the prolonged interference with normal growth, and the encompassment by radiation of mankind to generations, even to their extinction through long-term radio-genetic effects, and thereafter the encompassment of the entire earth by radiation for a millions of years due to the wide-spread radioactive substances, and the encompassment of this earth by radiation in the age of full-fledged atomic-energy-for-peace are some of the facts which indicate the distinct encompassing features of atomic phenomenon.
5. The Quran says" Outstretched column".. Besides the symbolically distinctive feature of the outstretched columns associated with the atomic bomb explosion, the atomic phenomenon has yet another side in this respect, namely that the world of radioactivity may be regarded as a world of columns. The 4 cm rise of the Alpha particle would appear as a formidable column if the size of the particle is seen in comparison to the height it has assumed. A foot-ball rising in the same ratio to its size would disappear in the skies. The Cosmic rays present a spectacle of amazing columns in showers, having heights that may cause man's imagination to reel.
6. The Holy Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) described the atomic hell. He said:-
"Allah will send angels equipped with covers of fire, and nails of fire, and columns of fire. They will cover the doomed with covers of fire, and will transfix them with nails of fire, and then will stretch the columns of fire upward above them. The entire phenomenon will be made so air-tight, that not a whiff of delight will enter from without, nor a trace of agony will escape from within, Allah will forget them on His throne, and will cut them off from His mercy. The inmates of paradise will begin to enjoy the boons of Allah. The inmates of hell will cease to cry for help, and the speech will come to end. Their speech will then be (as the sound of) inhaling and exhaling".

The atomic bomb explosion is a cover of fire. Radiations are nails of fire. The outstretched columns of fire miles high are a spectacle of atomic bomb explosion. All these factors may be imagined to be there in the age of the atomic energy-for-peace even in the absence of the event of atomic war, and the explosion of atomic bombs. The form though of these factors will be different.
7. The Quran says" What could teach thee what Al-Hotama is"? Inexpressible terribleness of the phenomenon was inferred by the early commentators from this interrogative mode of expression. To this may now be added the factor of unrevealable complexity of nuclear phenomenon. The question "what could teach thee what the nuclear science is"? Could justly be put to the nuclear scientist with invariable reply, "Nothing".
8. The characterization of Baconian modern atomism, and the nuclear phenomenon by a scripture fourteen centuries ago, and the inferring of atomic bomb from Baconian atomism, (not a priori for a Plato or Aristotle) are the facts to shatter the notion of science's denial of supernatural and miraculous. The scientist thus has been left in a fix regarding his allegiance to the dilimitating doctrines of materialistic science. This discovery of Quran's warning by God's grace has been my own. The Muslim as well as the Non-Muslim world is unaware of it as yet. On this warning of the Quran now depends the future destiny of this world? It is the only guidance, and the only hope, and it is the Noah's Ark for this atomic deluge of fire, and is the Rod of Moses for the magic serpents of this science. It is the extinguisher of the fire of atomic hell, and it is the neutralizer of the atomic bombs, and it renders the atomic radiations innocuous by the method of eradication.
This prophecy of the Quran has furnished an irrefutable proof of the divine original of the Quran in history.Praised by the Merciful Allah.
THE EFFICACY OF THIS PROPHECY
It is hard for anyone to withstand the effect of this miraculous prophecy of the Quran. The well-known German Jewish Scholar Miss Animary Schimel, in September 1963, in the Punjab University Lahore, during her lecture against the divine original of the Quran fell on her chair, confused, confounded and indisposed at hearing from me to the explanation of this prophecy as a proof of the divine original of the Quran. And she never thereafter came (according to my knowledge) to this country for a period of ten years, and when at last she came her topic was not the original of the Quran but the works of Iqbal, Khusro and Bahu, and the Islamic calligraphy. Poor Miss Schimel is now left miles behind Einsteins and Russels are needed to listen to the case and read wonders. To the inquiry of the noteworthy and venerable Ulema (that were present in the above mentioned debate) about my identity, the answer of Allama Aladdin Siddiqui, the President of that function and afterwards the Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University was:-
"Providence has created this man in this nation by chance.That light and understanding of the Quran which Allah has bestowed on his breast, if this nation will fail to take from him, Allah will never forgive this nation. Another one like him will not appear".
ADDRESS TO MUSLIMS
I have to say many things to the Muslims but here I will stick to the topic and be brief. Know first that all the entire commonwealth of nations that is the entire mankind is now, in the plane of judgment, beware therefore and pay heed to the trumpet. Then know that not only the propagation of the light of the Quran is a duty incumbent on you as Muslims, but this prophecy of the Quran, about the atomic hell has its own importance. To fail in publishing this my interpretation of the prophecy of the Quran and keeping it confined to a country unpublished, and thus deprive this word of Allah of the sole guidance for escaping the most dreadful, most grievous, most painful, most disgraceful and universal atomic ruin, means to muffle up the mouth of a furious volcano, which this prophecy is and await earthquake. The doom in the flames of this worldly atomic hell will be a share quite natural along with other nations. But unfortunately the story does not end with it. The causes of the appearance of this worldly atomic hell and the causes of the punishment in the eternal atomic hell that is Hotama of the next world are the same. If therefore someone inspite of deserving the flames of this temporal atomic hell would escape unhurt to the next world, there is no possibility for him to escape the eternal atomic hell that is Hotama of the next world. Let it be known that today in these present circumstances of the world no one country alone could do much to avert the atomic threat. The only best possible thing now is to expose the reality of this Baconian progress and its logical end that is the atomic hell to the world so that the nations may think of some combined policy and programme to avoid the atomic ruin. This object is best achieved by publishing my interpretation of the prophecy of the Quran about the atomic hell. If the Muslims are acquitted of their greater duties toward mankind in the present circumstances merely by arranging the publication of a few volumes, then let them regard themselves as lucky. No gift of the Muslim nation to this mankind can be more valuable than this interpretation of the prophecy of the Quran, and no more timely present than this in the 15th century Hijra programme of the Muslim world. The Muslims now appear determined to accelerate the step of progress. It means no more than the acceleration of the step of this world toward the logical end of this progress, which is no other than atomic hell, that is the atomic bombs and radiations. If the Muslims ignore this warning and appeal, then let them know, that I have given my test and done my duty. Let Allah help me for my trust in Him.
ADDRESS TO THE CHRISTIANS, THE HINDUS, BHUDHSITS, COMMUNISTS AND JEWS
You know that the appeals of Einsteins, Russels and all the great scientists and philosophers to this mankind to forget the quarrels in order to avoid the atomic war have utterly failed. Neither this world has forgotten its quarrels nor the atomic stock piles have disappeared. Their appeals failed, because they were based not on sound logic. To allow the people to set their houses on fire and then tell them to forget their losses does not sound very logical. Nor those who jumped into the fire could escape burning by merely closing their eyes. Listen to me now carefully, and I assure you that if Christ, Moses, Lord Krishna and Mahatama Buddha were today they would have embraced this prophecy of the Quran about the atomic hell with eagerness, and had done their utmost best in propagating it throughout this world, and remember, that this problem of the atomic danger is not the problem of any one nation, rather all are involved in it. Let therefore the light be welcome from whatever direction it came. Unfortunately this world now is Baconian mad, and it raves. What will you call it if not madness, that the atomic powers should be busy day in day out in developing their atomic stockpiles and reactors and should at the same time wish to stop the proliferation of atomic energy. And what greater mistake is than to think that the presence of atomic bombs will forever serve, as a deterrent to war. And what is more ridiculous than to hold a referendum on the point of atomic energy in a country where the entire population be unacquainted with the subject of atomic energy excepting a dozen or so of the people. Do not think that non-Muslims could be absolved from the responsibility of publishing this my interpretation of the prophecy of the Quran about the atomic hell, for it teaches how to avoid he dreadful and universal nuclear doom.
ADDRESS TO THE SCIENTISTS, PHILOSOPHERS AND THE POLI-TICIANS.
Let now the baseless optimism cease in the face of the reality that now stares into one's eyes. Let the scientists now solemnly declare to this world, that nothing could possibly be done about the atomic bomb and the atomic radiation and that this world could be deemed both by the atomic bombs as well as the atomic radiation to a miserable and ignoble death And let now the philosopher analyze the case of this problem of the philosophy of atomism to its root and tell this world that the atomic hell was the only logical end of this Baconian progress. And let the politician too awake from the slumber and realize the situation. It is unwise to lead this world to the flames of atomic hell in the name of progress and monopoly. Lead not your countrymen to the flames of the atomic hell to rule there. It is better to serve in heaven, than to rule in the hell.
A MEMORANDUM TO THE HEADS OF STATES IN THE WORLD
Your attention is invited to the new historic letter of Eisntein in 1939 to President Roosevelt inviting his attention to the possibility that appeared in some work of Fermi and Szilard on atomic fission, of making a million times more powerful bomb. The U.S. Government had decided to explore the possibility. I now invite your attention to the possibility of averting the atomic doom of mankind, a possibility that appears in the prophecy of the Quran about the atomic hell. It is an unwise policy to accumulate the wealth and leave out the precautions against the atomic ruin, for it ensures the destruction of all wealth and all life on earth.

THE ATOMIC FIRE AND OUTSTRETCHED COLUMNS DESCRITPTION BY QURAN

The Quran says:-
Lo! (It is) a fire closed in on them in outstretched columns (Al-Homaza- 104)
Now, then, this fire is, a fire closed in on them! The Sahabah, that is the companions (disciples) of the Holy Prophet, said, “It is a fire, enkindled in a huge edifice with a roof on arched vaults supported by columns of vast extent". And now let us see in the light of the practical facts of Nuclear phenomenon, whether this fire is a fire closed in on them.
(a) The heat-flash
The hat-flash which we have already described as the initial radiation of the atomic explosion, a radiation which appears within a fraction of a second on detonation, and which travels with the speed of light, that is 186,000 miles per second, and lasts for only about two seconds or so, and is the only original body of atomic explosion besides the atomic radiations. It begins within a fraction of a second on detonation and after only two seconds disappears. But within these two seconds it completes its work, that of burning the skins of the people, in its effective range. The other effects of the atomic explosion, namely the blast and the atomic radiations complete their process within ten seconds at most. That is, the process of the atomic explosion begins within a fraction of a second and is complete within ten seconds. The effective range of the atomic explosion might be as far as eighty miles. Now, then who is the man, and what are the means to carry him out of the effected zone within a fraction of a second or two seconds or ten seconds. No, but the die is cast, and the destiny of those unfortunate people who happened to be within that enclosure is spun. There is no exit in case of the atomic explosion. They are in a pan, in a fold, in an enclosure. The fire is closed in on them.
(b) The story does not come to an end with this forty miles enclosure of atomic fire. The area of radio-active fallout is even larger. It may be 7000 square miles, or it may be 100,000 square miles. Nay, even it could be as large as the whole surface of the earth. For the March, 1956 test explosion (a 15 megaton bomb) it was 7000 square miles. The hazard depending on meteorological conditions and particularly the wind velocities. It may cover an area up to 100,000 square miles. Now all the persons in the fallout area must have been exposed to a large dose of deadly radiation. They must be evacuated to a safer place within a day or so following detonation, if they are to escape serious consequences. But Alas! The evacuation of so large a mass of population in so short a time is not a probability. It cannot be considered a practical thing even for a highly industrialized country. Further, where would be found a safe area, particularly in case of war, to provide a shelter to such a huge mass of evacuated people! Alas! The fire of atomic explosion has been closed in on them. A fire so treacherous as to turn back on the house of its master, who, a few moments ago had unleashed it on his foe. And then after having consumed the house of his foe, it would turn back on him and reduce his house to a heap of hot ashes.
(c) Hotama a huge edifice of fire
Now, just as the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) had described the Hotama as a huge edifice of fire with a roof on arched vaults supported by columns of vast extent, the atomic explosion, certainly is a huge edifice of fire, with a roof on arched vaults, supported by columns of vast extent. We shall now describe, how it is, let us take for example, a nominal high yield fission bomb (surface burst).
Now suppose the bomb is detonated. See the fire ball, being in close contact with the earth, it has produced a gigantic crater a mile in diameter. Now the fire ball is rushing upwards, expanding and cooling. It now has assumed a diameter of three miles, strong upward air currents follow the rapidly rising ball carrying with them dust and debris. In a few minutes the explosion cloud has reached the tropopause at a height of 40 thousand feet. It has met here the temperature inversion in the atmosphere which has considerably slowed down its upward motion. Now see the cloud has literally expanded into a "Mushroom" 100 miles in diameter, placed on top of a stem of diameter about the same as that of the fire-ball (3 miles). The central portion of the cloud (head of the stem) still continues to push forward, reaching 80 thousand feet in about 10 minutes, but because of the marked increase in the temperature with height in the higher levels of the stratosphere, it cannot go much beyond 100,000 feet (20 miles) and there the head of the stem is changing into a thin layer by the stream of the prevailing current of air. This current of air shall keep this layer of fallout in circulation around the earth for many years, say ten years. During this period the particles of fallout will gradually keep on settling all over the earth, on crops, plants, soil and the sources of water etc. Now, this fallout being radioactive it will affect every thing it will come in contact with, and produce terrific results. The cow will eat the crop. You will drink its milk. The milk is radioactive. The next generation, or any other future generation will be born in the form of monsters. The disease of cancer will widely spread. The plight of humanity will then be most miserable. Alas! For them. But let us revert to our edifice of the atomic bomb.
We have portrayed the picture of the atomic explosion to you. Now please bring that picture before the eye of your mind, and see, a column three miles in diameter, ten miles high, a mushroom 100 miles in diameter resting on top of it. Now, in view of the fact that the effective range of such a bomb would be about 40 miles around, just imagine a hollow, transparent, cylindrical column 40 miles in diameter, rising upward, to meet the lower edge of the 100 miles' mushroom, the mushroom covering this 40 miles cylinder like a lid, and itself resting on the central three-mile round column, which stands like the central pole of a tent. Now the picture of the atomic edifice is complete, and it is all fire. How, majestic, how awe-inspiring. But just have a peep into the interior of it. O! What havoc is being played therein. A storm of fires raging and consuming every thing. Mad earthquakes furiously pulling down buildings. Man, women, children, and brutes being roasted alive for the feast of the devil, and so on so forth in a fire closed in on them. A fire from which there happens to be no exit, no emergency door.
But our picture of the edifice is not yet complete. It has not been fully described. Further an earth wide edifice has also been built. Just look up please, and see, above the mushroom. The upper column that of the upper story of the edifice is resting on the head of the lower central column, and rising further ten miles into the stratosphere. There, its head is melting into a layer of fallout. The layer which keeps on circulating around the earth for ten years. Now please keeping this double storeyed edifice into view, just see, all over the earth, the atom bombs symmetrically planted and then detonated simultaneously. Say 1000 atoms bombs, or say 10,000 atom bombs and see 10,000 columns rising to the height of ten miles, and there see the mushrooms like arched vaults resting on top of these 10,000 central columns, and then see from every column another column shooting upwards and reaching a height of twenty miles and there spreading itself into a layer of fallout. Then see this fallout spreading and joining to make a perfect spherical roof above the earth: whole of it. The picture now is complete. Just see the edifice with its majestic columns, its mighty mushroom-arched vaults ad its universal roof, and inform the inhabitants of Mars if there be any, of this grand achievement of demizens of the earth. Or if, you be so touched at this fate as to cry, then retire to a corner and weep to your heart's content, and wonder how the fire is closed in on them, all of them including yourself, in a universal, world-wide enclosure.
(d) And if there be still any doubt about this "Closing-in-on" nature of this fire, we will refer to "operation alert" of the U.S.A. A mock exercise of Nuclear attack which proved beyond any doubt this "closing-in-on" character of Atomic fire:-

"Operation Alert June 15, 1955, the first US National-wide civil defence exercise based on a mock attack using Nuclear weapons".
"It was assumed that 60 cities were struck by 61 bombs varying in size from a Nominal bomb to a 5 megaton bomb. The warning time (that is the advance information of the attack) allowed was about three hours. Based on the data collected by the bomb damage assessment group of the federal civil defence administration, it was estimated that at the end of the first day of the attack more than 8 million people would have been killed, and another 8 million would have died a few weeks later. About a quarter of the deaths would have been caused by radio-active fallout. It was also estimated that the attack would have damaged more than 11 million dwelling units and rendered about 25 million people homeless. In New York alone a 5 megaton bomb (surface burst) would have killed about 3 million people (38 percent of the population) and injured another 23 percent. Of every 8 New Yorkers about 3 were estimated killed and 2 injured. Civil Defence officials said that the nation was far from being ready to withstand a nuclear attack. And who could withstand the Nuclear Attack when the enkindled fire of Allah was closing in on them. This was a mere mock attack, and unluckily the things in a real nuclear attack with real atom bombs raining on the heads of a blinded people would be not quite so easy to imagine, and there, neither would be the bomb assessment groups to asses the damages, nor the civil defence officials, to give their opinions about the readiness of nation.
To this is to be added the following piece of information in order to understand the international closing-in-on-them character of the nuclear fire:-
" When referring to a full scale Nuclear Assault, Lt. General James Gavin (Chief of the US Army Research & Development) in his testimony to the US Senate Sub-Committee, investigating comparative Air Power is reported to have said, " Current planning estimates run on the order of several hundred million deaths that would be either way depending on which way the wind blew. If the wind blew southeast they would be mostly in the USSR although they would extend into the Japanese and perhaps down into Philippine area. If the wind blew the other way, they would extend well back into western Europe". And thus it would mean that no one, friend or foe or neutral would deem himself safe from the deadly radiological hazard. No mater in which part of the earth one lived. The atomic fire has closed in on them from every side and a check on the wind could not be imposed.
(v) Quran says, “Outstretched columns": that is, a fire closed in on them in outstretched columns:-
We have sometimes written in this chapter columns of vast extent. This does not seem to be the most exact translation of the word which is used by the Quran. The nearer translation might seem to be outstretched columns, just as a pot marker draws upward the clay pot while moulding on his wheel. The Quran always would use a basic expression, and suppose tomorrow it is proved, that over every little microscopic nucleon in fission a column is built up, and this column is not going to be of vast extent, although in proportion to the size of the nucleon it may be judged as a vast extent. These however are sheer subtleties; let us proceed with our point.
A column is a characteristic feature of an atomic explosion. The terrific fire bell rises upwards dragging behind it a column of fission products, vapourised dust and debris. It is a fascinating scene to be hold. Sensations of awe and wonder unite to impart to the mind of the spectator of this enkindled wrath of Allah a strange inexpressible feeling. A column so grand rising so majestically to such formidable heights. If the reader remembers aright, one such column we have described previously in D-IV, which if so desired, could be recalled to mind. A column is an essential feature of atomic explosion in air, surface, underground or under water burst. Though in case of deep underground or deep underwater bursts, it may be muffled up by the enormous weight of earth or water. Most spectacular view is presented by the column in case of a shallow underwater burst. The BIKINI (1946) test (Baker) was a shallow underwater explosion. Generally, in the shallow underwater burst, the detonation takes place at the depth of about 50 feet. The first thing seen in "BAKER" was flash of light, much less luminous than for air burst as the fire ball broke through the water surface. A column of water in the form of a hollow cylinder (Plume) with a straight stem rushed upwards. In 15 seconds it was a mile high and attained its maximum height of about a mile and half within a minute; the stem was one third of a mile in diameter, and the "Mushroom head" about a mile and half across; the water contained in the column was of the order of a million tons. Due to the force of explosion the water present in plume was in a state of fine drops, and the subdivision was carried further as the water column began to fall after it had attained its maximum height. From the base of the column there rolled out a white ring of mist (named "base surge") at a speed of about fifty miles per hour. (This was an unexpected phenomenon). After about three minutes of the explosion, rain began to fall from the bottom of the expanding surge, and soon the outward spreading slowed down and altogether stopped in another two minutes. The base probably covered a total area of more than five square miles. It carried a part of the fission products, but it is likely that the major fraction of the fission products was in the mushroom top.
