Many years ago, when the asphalt was still on the streets, appeared the bike. Firstly it was a simple bike to which an engine was added. After that, there were added other various improvements for the better control and easier use of the bike. The production was manufactured and individual, ingenious people building their motorcycles alone and racing afterwards with other motorcycle builders and they easily become passionate being their own invention. With the passing of time, the off-road motorcycle also evolved, but no person or company was interested about it. In 1914 a special motorcycle was built for dirt bike riding, but has not been patented as dirt bike.
Although nobody knows the exact origin of motorcycles (France is very possible to be), they started to be produced in the first half of the 20-th century. In 1946 Soichiro Honda started the production of motorcycles for transporting people. Then Honda became very fast one of the best known brands of motorcycles and other land vehicles, remaining prestigious until today. In 1954 Suzuki Company produced the first bike, followed by Yamaha and Kawasaki. In this way started dirt bike racing being one of the most popular motorsport in the world.
In the second decade of the 20th century, motorcycles gave up to the old “motor bike” by encompassing new technologies, although many models kept elements of the bicycle, such as chairs or suspensions. Honda built a competitive dirt bike in 1972 with a four-stroke engine, which was named in USA Elsinore CR250. Then many companies such as KTM, Maico and Gas Gas began to produce different types of bikes for competitions. Japan played an important role in developing these types of motorcycles and began to build a wide range of types and categories of motorcycles, such as those for children, or dual, both for rough and good the road.
The world of dirt bikes is today better known than ever. Many factories are dedicated to producing and improving these types of motorcycles. There is a lot of research made in order to find solutions for better breaks and more appropriate use of these types of bikes: better breaks suspension, a size as small as possible for a better yield, and a bigger engine power with small consumption of fuel. It is a real pleasure to watch such a sport and especially to participate because of feeling so much horsepower. It is an unique sensation and lot of people are fascinated by this hobby.
