Teddy bears the name makes children go crazy especially girls. These toys came into existence long ago sometime around 1902.The story is a very interesting one. It was not from child’s imagination but from one of the hunting experience of a famous president Theodore Roosevelt. When he went for hunting he came across a black bear cub. He was too keen on hunting it but he never found it. The hunting team wanted to kill it and present him but he would not allow that.


A famous cartoonist named Cliff Barry man made a cartoon of this scene and a Brooklyn shop keeper was motivated to make bear. He requested Roosevelt and named it as Teddy. The bears of those days were not as cute as the present one’s. They didn’t have bendable legs or hands and were not really cute.


Now these teddy bears come in different sizes and shapes and you can choose different bears for different occasions. These bears have always been a sign of love and compassion. Small children love to hug their teddies and sleep because it makes them feel secure. Old people love to have a teddy because it gives them a sense of nostalgia. And young women of course love teddy bears and especially the one’s gifted by their admirer. These teddy bears are gifted to people for many reasons and on many occasions.


They can be gifted to someone who is in the hospital ensuring your love and affection. Most people gift teddy bears to show their love and affection and it has become a custom. One more reason is that everybody adores and likes to have a teddy.
We’ll probably the only occasion when teddy bears are not sale is during Christmas time. However, of course the retailer probably makes a profit twice or more than that during Valentine’s Day. The market for these bears is unbeatable during this season.


There is something called as collectable teddy bears and collecting teddy’s have also becomes a new fashion. These are quiet costly. These can be made with wide variety of materials like jade porcelain etc. Whether a teddy is for collecting purpose or it is for gifting someone it will remain dear to people always. Both the person who gifts it and the recipient would be very happy and satisfied because teddies eventually bring out such reactions from you.
