Step in Style, Which shoe is the best fit for you?
Unable to make up your mind as to which shoe is the best fit for you? We help you make the best choice. Read on to find out more...

“I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!”, says Sarah Jessica Parker, aka Carrie Bradshaw in her hit series, Sex in the City. And, it well may be the case or most of us. Peep-toes, wedges, flats, pumps, sandals, boots, ankle straps… and the list is endless. You could end up buying each pair that looks nice, fits your budget, but when you actually start wearing the, the story is entirely different. After all, if you wear shoes that are even slightly tight, you would be unable to stand.

Its established that we love shoes, and we go to lengths to find the right pair. If it fits, it will suit the purse strings. But, how many times are we sure if we have brought the right pair? Maybe 10 times out of the 50 times that we go shopping; right? There are a number of ways that can help you choose the right shoe to match your body type, fit your feet and above all add to your ‘oomph factor’.

For the apple body type
  • Always go in for a pair of shoes that continue the long lines of your legs. You must try a strappy sandal or a sexy heel.
  • Wear kitten heels for comfort if you have smaller calves. These heels are easier on your feet so you can wear them all day without trouble.
  • Chunkier style shoes like wedges are also a great option.
  • Wearing a slightly heavier shoe can help to anchor and balance your top half.

For the pear body type
  • For this body type one needs to remember just one thing. Try and lengthen your legs making it look slim, which can be done only with a pair of heeled sandals.
  • Heavier style heels will balance out your calves so go in for wedges.
  • Avoid shoes with ankle straps which accentuate your ankles as they will make you look larger.

For the athletic body type
  • Always go in for shoes that show off your toned legs, so always go for long and lean looking shoes. Chunky is not even an option.
  • Stay away from wedges and platforms which can make your legs look heavy. Flatter your calves with a traditional pump and a slightly thicker heel.
  • As your body is toned you much also think of highlighting your ankles by opting for ankles strap sandals with pencil heels.

For thick ankles
  • The best way to deal with thick ankles is to hide them.
  • Your best option is a pair of high court shoes with a strap that goes across the top of your foot. This makes your legs look longer and the strap distracts creating an illusion of being thinner.
  • Avoid flats.

Style it right!
  • Don’t wear darker color shoes with light color clothes or the other way round.
  • Avoid wearing tapered legged trousers with shoes or boots. Opt for flats in such a case.
  • Never have a high heeled shoe on full display at the end of your jeans as this will make you look shorter.
  • Wear flats or boots with jeans always.
  • If wearing shorts go in for flats.
  • With a skirt or a dress, always go in for dainty shoes with small heels preferably pencils.
