|
Pakistan is making it to the headlines of various news channels nowadays because of the conflict between Taliban and Pakistani government going on in north western province of Pakistan. The situation in the northern areas of Pakistan is worsening. According to some well reputed news channels the Taliban’s are closing in towards the capital of the country and they are only 60 Miles away from the Capital, but that off course is an exaggeration. They are in fact 400 Highway Miles away from the capital and Pakistan is well aware of the situation. The history of this region is very interesting. It has never really been under the complete rule of Pakistani government. But in past the valley of Sawat was Pakistan’s tourist paradise. This valley was considered to be the most visited well renowned tourist place and Pakistan earned thousands of dollars in revenue from tourism industry. This place is a hub of three famous mountain ranges Karakorum, Himalaya and Hindukush. Very few people know that worlds second highest mountain, K-2, lies in Pakistani Northern Area ( the Karakorum range) .There are beautiful forests, rivers, streams and stunning sights . There are hotels for tourists and tourists from all over the world used come here every summer .This valley has one of the world’s most beautiful mountains, waterfalls, glaciers and snow covered peaks .There were different mountaineering sports for the visitors like hiking, Trekking, rock climbing, wide river rafting, and there was even a skiing resort .I know it is a little hard to believe but this is reality .The people there were very hospitable and welcoming towards the foreigners. But after Afghan war this situation changed all together. Now hands full of terrorists have taken over the control of that area and they are threatening the stability of the country. Pakistani government needs to pay attention to this problem and find a solution as soon as possible or this heaven on earth will become a dangerous place for the whole world. © Wisdia.com
