Recessionista: The New Girl in Town
Who says looking good means spending too much? Now you can dress up, glam up, and stay in style without trashing hundreds of bucks over a single piece of top or a cute little purse. Today, fashionistas aren’t the only in style. We now welcome the new fashion gurus---the recessionistas.

From the Wiktionary, a recessionista is a person who is able to stick to a tight budget while still managing to dress stylishly. These are people who are able to live fabulously without spending too much. One famous, and may not be known to be, recessionista would be none other than Mrs. Michelle Obama, now US’ first lady.

Recessionistas often find their treasures in garage sales, eBay auctions, vintage shops and the like. Though the thought of it often grosses out the known fashionistas, it is true that some of the coolest stuffs are actually found there; whether it may be a 60’s shoe pumps or an ancient necklace. After all, one woman’s trash may be the treasure of another.

Nowadays, women really ought to know better. They have to look good, yet be smart at the same time. Frankly, spending almost a thousand bucks over a simple bag is such a stupid thing to do. Mary Hall, a marketing manager who was then a self-confessed ‘fashionista’, is now the most looked-up to recessionista. Her blog therecessionista.blospot.com, which is dedicated to her cheap and chic choices, has now almost 2,000 readers from all over the world.

“The country is hurting and the world is hurting so it's not chic to be throwing away money right now,” says Mary Hall.

Hiya, thanks for mentioning the blog, but it actually has over 50,000 readers from over 120 countries!
I'm not sure where you got the 2,000 readers number, but that is old.
Thanks,
MH, The Recessionista Blog
