Ford cars are renowned for their appearance and comfort since many years. Due to their reputation, their sales level is always at the peak despite of their prices.

Introduction of F series:

     Ford Company had brought out its new model F series in America in the year 1948. This F series had become a favorite of all the Americans due to its unique features. Ford manufactured six generations of F series which include F 100, F 110, F 250, F 260 etc which stole the hearts of the buyers. But when F 150 was introduced it was a grand gala for them.

F 150:

     F 150 has become very popular among the F series and it has taken the storm of the market as it was the dearest vehicle to all middle class people. It was a truck under the camouflage of a car. It was the top most selling vehicle for over a period of 30 years.

Unique features of F series:

     Among the six generations of Ford F series each vehicle had some transcendent features. The first set of F series was in the market from 1948 to 1952. It was introduced with the integrated head lights which made it very popular. The wind shield wiper worked with the help of a foot plunger and both the driver and the passenger were benefited by the wind shield wipers during a down pour. The fifth generation of F series was simply designed and it was durable so it was the best selling vehicle in 1972. When F 150 came to the market in 1975, it became very popular as “Heavy Half” due to its weight of half a ton. In the later years many changes took place in the brakes, steering and power of F 150. Anti lock brakes and automatic locking hubs were implemented.

Changes in F 150:

     In 1992, Ford came out with 240 hp of engine which became an added feature to F 150. The sales of this vehicle were at the zenith beating the sales of other cars miraculously. In 1997 F 150 was given a title “The Truck of the Year” by Motor Trend magazine. From the introduction stage to the present, there were lots of improvements associated with the engine, towing capacity of this vehicle were implemented.

     NHSTA has ranked F 150 a rating of 5 pertaining to the safety because it is believed as the best vehicle which is very safe to drive with excessive loads.
