Everyone wants to impress their customers and this is not a fault in you only. However you have to understand that to a certain extent this decoration of your site is ok but when it crosses the barriers, it is not very ok and you may stand a chance of losing customers not because your product is bad or that your sales advertisement has not been developed properly. They will leave because your site has overdone the decoration and moved in to the realm of high unprofessionalism.

For example there are these flash videos that try to scream out to you every time you open a particular site. This is most unhealthy for the well being of your site because no one is interested in what video you have put up or what song is being placed in that video. They are interested in your site and what it has to offer to them. Do not drive them away with a video or a song which for all you know may be their worst ones. So never take a risk. You would never want to lose a sale just because the song which plays on your site is much hated by the customer.

Also never think that these flash images will ever have positive effect on the sales of your site simply because it may cause the user certain problems. Say, the user has a little baby sleeping in the room he or she is working in. And when they click on your website, without any warning there is a blast of music and the baby wakes up with a start. What do you think the visitor would do? He or she would instantly close the window and make sure that they never return to your page because they will be having a hell of a time trying to put the baby back to sleep again. Now you wouldn’t want to loose customers like that and so it does not really matter whether you play that Bryan Adams song at your site.

There are other people around who try and fit every product they are selling on one web page. Well what will you take to separate pages for a few things because you know what, we are tired of looking for things we want. We just want to click and get it at our reach, not search for it like needle in a haystack. For example, I went to a site because it was selling baseball bats. When I reached there, it was a clutter box filled with bats of all types and I could not really gather the patience of looking through all the bats and identifying the baseball one. So I just left the site and the owner lost a potential customer. So be precise and categorical as well as neat with your site. You do not want to lose customers and that too for very silly reasons.
