Is fasting worthwhile?
Fasting is a sure way of reducing all the extra fat that is stored in your body. However, fasting is only a one stop solution and is not permanent. The fat that you will lose through fasting for ten days will take only a single day to return. Therefore you will have to learn how to manage and fast in a very healthy and regular manner. So fasting directly does not help what you should do is compliment fasting with a healthy eating routine so that you can keep off those fat tyres at bay permanently.

See, basically you have to have a weight management plan. But that doesn’t mean you gain weight and then you lose it and then gain again and the cycle goes on and on. Neither am I trying to imply that you eat mathematically by continuously calculating how many calories you should eat and how many you should avoid. I am sure that all of you are tired of such calculative eating schemes.

The worst fasting scheme is that where you prevent yourself from eating something that will put on weight in your body, get very much attracted to the food and just cannot keep your hands off it, eat it and are ultimately left feeling guilty. The next day you again go through his unhappy process of not wanting to eat but eating and feeling guilty. I personally feel that it is better to not fast than to go through such a sad state of affairs.

So, how should you fast? It is a question that many people have asked me and here is the answer. Basically, the challenge is to control what you eat and what you want to eat. Never overeat and neither under eat; maintain such a balance which will help you keep your weight just fine, not overweight neither underweight. If you are too fat then start with an extreme fasting schedule which consists only of green vegetables, fruits and fruit juices. After about a month you will shrink down and then start eating healthy. However, do not get back to gobbling food and overeating, maintain a balanced diet.

See, to live you have to eat and if you do not eat then you are missing out on a huge pleasure of life; so, eat but never overeat. Did you know that most of the fast food we consume is actually a matter of habit and addiction, not tummy fillers or nutritional needs? Therefore, we really do not need to intake this food; rather we should control ourselves against it.

So basically, fasting is fine but only when it is done in a healthy manner. If fasting become an addiction and an obsession then it can harm you severely and cause serious trouble in your eating habits.
