Innovations Towards Artificial Intelligence
Throughout the ages, there have been a lot of attempts and innovations towards artificial intelligence. Perhaps the most famous advancement towards A.I. would be Deep Blue, a chess-playing computer designed by International Business Machines (IBM) which once defeated Gary Kasparov, the world’s chess grandmaster in 1997. The newest version of Deep Blue after Deep Fritz is Chessmaster9000 from Ubisoft recently defeated U.S. international grandmaster Larry Christiansen in a four-game match.

Lately, we have been introduced to ASIMO, a robot which uses sensors and algorithms to navigate around his surroundings, and in about a year or two ago, we have been exposed to different kinds of robots, from ones that could talk (like machine Mertz which was invented by graduate students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and ones that could walk.

According to Nick Bostrom, a computer scientist and author of “When Machines
Outsmart Humans” published in 2000, innovations like computational neuroscience and molecular nanotechnology have also been ascertained through constant study and research.

These advancements would certainly not stop there. Studies being conducted show that machines can possibly do a lot more than what we think they can. And this, in fact, we need not to wait and see.
