With the increase of popularity of T20 cricket, there are a lot of people who started to follow T20 matches instead of watching fifty over game. Though it was difficult to replace fifty over or ODI cricket but with the shorter version of cricket it has been done. In T20 cricket people love to see the aggressive game of their favorite players. This is way the two T20 world cup are arranged successfully with a short span of time (two years).
All international cricketing nations take their part to compete for the world title for this short format of the game. But T20 cricket is not just confined to the country level. Its popularity has taken it to the next level. Different countries have decided to start their own T20 cricket league. But the founder of this concept lies in Pakistan; the concept of T20 league has become so popular that from the very next year England has included this in its clubs. Now almost every cricketing nation has a T20 league system but among all of them the most popular is Indian Premier League (IPL).
IPL is not just a name of cricket league; it has become a phenomenon of cricket world. The most needed concept was to introduce the combination of players in the same league like in football players from different nationality play from the same club. So this concept was introduced by BCCI. BCCI is now the richest board of ICC (International cricket council). Thus it gathered different players belonging to different nations.
Up till now two seasons of the IPL have been on aired. Eight different clubs took part in the IPL namely, Mumbai Indians who’s owner is Mukesh Ambani, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals.
Among those teams Mumbai Indians is the most expensive team or in other words it has done most expensive trade of players. So to conclude we can say that after T20 world cup IPL has made a revolution in the cricketing world.
