An iPod is a must-have gadget for all ardent music lovers.  If you just got your iPod and are wondering how to load it with all your favorite songs, here is how.


The first thing to do is to get iTunes software and install it on your computer.  The latest version can be found at www.apple.com .  Once you have download iTunes to your computer, run the installation.  It will guide you step by step through the process.  The next step is to create a music library using iTunes.  If you already have music files in the form of mp3s, wav etc, you can select them and add them to the ‘Music” tab in the iTunes library.  A collection of your CDs would also work, if you download them to your computer and add them to the library.

Once you’ve set up the iTunes library with your favorite music, you can start transferring them to your iPod.  Connect your ipod to your computer.  iTunes will instantly detect the device and ask you to assign a name to the ipod.  After this, you can right-click on your iPod and hit “sync” so that all the music files in your library are now copied to your ipod.  This may vary in the case of different models.  If you are using an iPod Shuffle, just dragging and dropping the music files to the iPod folder would do.
