How to FIX Dead Pixels On Your LCD Screen ?
|
I found this two programs that helps to locate and fix LCD screens dead pixels. You can move flash zone with cursor and select color by right clicking on the flash area.
The first is called UDPixel, created by Samuel Larché and it’s free.
It works on windows Vista, XP and 2000. There is a Pocket PC version too.
You need also the .NET Framework Version 2.0

JScreenFix is a free software solution that can fix stuck pixels, reduce screen burn-in and improve the quality of images displayed on a screen. JScreenFix is a Java applet that randomly turns on and off every colour component on the screen at up to 60 times a second. and because it is a Java applet it will run on almost anything.

If it's bring dead pixels back to life, does that mean I'll have zombie pixels?

Take a point of anything that will not cut in your screen (smooth, plastic, etc)
Press the object against the dead pixel, do not push too hard as to damage the screen (duh)
Turn off and then on your monitor. Voila. Your problem should be solved.
It's caused because each pixel has an element that becomes charged when the monitor turns on. When the path between pixels becomes blocked you get a dead pixel. Agitating the liquid in the pixel does the trick almost every time.

Had a blue colored pixel right in the middle of my screen. Thought I was going to have to return the LCD. Applied a tiny bit of pressure (enough to see some distortion) and gently rubbed the area with a q-tip for like 10s maybe even less and poof, gone. SAMSUNG SyncMaster 226BW 22"

I used the applet and another program and then cam across this one. They all work the same... Finally, I placed this over the pixel and ran it. As it was running I gently pressed near (just below) the pixel and watched the pixel as the application ran. I noticed that if I pressed firmly enough that the pixel would blend into the background and appeared to be fixed. I maintained pressure for about 5-10s and then removed pressure and the pixel appeared to be fixed. I had to do this a couple times as the pixel wanted to come back to its red state but now after about 10min it is still gone. Thanks to all who posted here.
I can confirm that the combination of consistent firm pressure and this program seems ot help make this go away.

I had one stuck green pixel, I used UDPixel ( flashing at 40ms) while applying little pressure with one finger on the pixel. I pushed (very softly) and released five times and the green pixel disappeared. Hardware: Notebook MSI vr610x
