The teenage is the most exhilarating and enjoyable phase of every individual. But due to the symptoms and signs of acne, many teens develop depression and embarrassment. They undergo stress and lower their self esteem. They try to isolate themselves from the society and prefer solitude. Acne has a negative psychological impact on the teens. If we understand what acne is and what causes it, we will be able to free us from it. Acne is an infection of sebaceous glands. When the follicles and pores where these glands are found get clogged by oil, dirt, dead skin cells etc, this results in the formation of acne. The people who are affected by acne can follow few simple tips to come out of this problem permanently.
The tips to overcome the problem of acne:
• Washing our face with mild soaps help us a lot by clearing the dead tissues, oil and dirt from our skin. This keeps the pores open and clean.
• We should be sure that the mobiles, telephone receivers, spectacles etc which touch the surface of our face must be clean to prevent the spreading of bacteria which enhances the formation of acne.
• The environmental pollution, airborne grease, ill fit clothing etc cause the formation of excessive acne. So it is better to avoid exposing ourselves to such conditions.
• Keeping the hair clean of dirt and oil helps to reduce the aggravation of acne.
• The pillow covers must be washed and changed regularly as the dirt and oil stuck to them will increase the problem of acne.
• We must try to lead a stress free life. Stressful conditions will cause the excessive production of oil on our skin’s surface and this leads to the formation of acne.
• Rubbing anti bacterial products into the pores will cure the acne and prevent their spreading.
• We must immerse our face in warm water for ten seconds which clears the pores and keep them free of oil and dirt. This can be done thrice a day.
• We must avoid oil based make up products as they aggravate the problem. The water based make up products can be used. But we must be sure to clean the make up thoroughly before going to sleep at nights.
