Mosques
These are the holy places for Muslims as chapels and churches for Christians. Mosques are not made to have just religious practices since basis of Islam include both religious practices as well as social relationships. It is obligatory for every Muslim to go to the Mosque near him for “Salat” five times a day.

In traditions of the Muslim world women and girls remain at home or a separate section of mosque set aside for them. In the mosques the attendants are required to keep silence. There are no seats, no images, and no decorations as they are highly forbidden. In the mosques the attendants are required to remove their shoes, since they are going to present themselves to the creator of the whole universe and the lord of the judgment day.

There is a courtyard with a fountain or a hose with water taps where ablution is performed before the prayer. There is person who conducts the whole prayer who is called “Imam” like priest in Christianity. His duty is to align the attendants in a straight line. Attendants are required to stand in a horizontal line.

Every mosque is build with a specific structural design, that is, a minaret (tower). Most mosques are built as the mosque in Medina, with a round arch in its center. Use of loud speaker is allowed for the call of the prayers. But in the mosque use of music is strictly prohibited.

Islam promotes moderation since prophet Muhammad (PBUH) set an example of it. He allowed a group of Christian people who wanted to prey. He allowed them by giving permission to them that they can prey in the mosque. Since it mosques is a place of peace.

Mosque is a place where people gather five times a day thus going to mosque regularly increase the social circle of a person and also helps people to share their feelings and problems. So we can say that it is a place to give peace of mind as well as soul.
