FFA hosting was a good choice in the days when most of the advertising that people usually got into was based solely on traffic exchanges. However, nowadays that era is gone but still FFA hosting continues to bring in a sizeable income for many. There were various categories under which you could post these ads and usually people had to choose any one category. However as the popularity of the site spread people were allowed to post free ads in any category irrespective of how many categories they are choosing.

But how did the site sustain itself, how did it create and income for itself? Well well, very soon people who are ready to pay for their ads realized that because so many people visit this site for advertising as well as for buying things so, putting up a paid ad is worth it and you could actually get to make a number of sales. This was one method of income. There was another method of income but it is to that method that FFA owes the disaster that it has created.

FFA Net had a policy that for every page that contains your ad, you get to receive one mail from that page. Now, initially, FFA Net was not so big a thing and they had therefore only a single page. So with people receiving just one mail for their ads everything was fine and people read these mails. These mails were ones advertising the paid ads on the site. Now, with the constant popularity of paid advertising the people of the site got a new idea, a killer idea, only that it backlashed.

What they thought was, they would allow all advertisers to have a page of their own and then these people could send their own customised messages instead of the site sending them one. With the initiation of this process all hell broke loose because people now started to get thousands of emails every day, from every single page they had put their ads on. There were thousands of FFA sites now and thousands of mails. Then came a software which made possible; with one click you advertise to hundred sites. Now everyone just clicked away and no one ever visited the page to see the ads. Therefore sales fell but people never realized.

FFA hosting still is present and one site will cost you about five dollars only. So with about two hundred dollars you can host twelve sites and have an income. But be beware, it is an advertising depending on emails and so a poor email delivery will just wash away your business.
