Hepatitis B has become a serious health problem all around the globe, so it is really necessary for everyone to be vaccinated against this killer disease.
Around 2 billion persons have been victimized by this disease of which 90% have acute type of hepatitis B of which they will be able to recover fully. But rest of the 10% have a chronic infection of hepatitis B, that means they may live with it for the rest of their lives but there is no cure for them. Every year around one million people die, globally, due to this disease. The time is now or never to wake awareness among people about it and to seek prevention from it.
Africa, Asia, some Eastern and Southern regions of Europe have the most infected victims, around 10% of the population is infected with it. Among these 10%, most of the people’s age range from 25-44 years old. Rests are followed by the age of 14-24. The reason for people of these areas being more infected is because they didn’t had the vaccination as well as they either had no or less knowledge about this disease e.g. what is hepatitis, how many types and stages it has, how it spreads and how it can be prevented from spreading farther more?
Here are some of the common things by doing which we can slow down it’s growth in the society.
• First of all get yourself and your child vaccinated against it.
• Secondly avoid unsafe sex, get your life partner and yourself tested for it. It’s necessary for the future of your children as well as for you. The one who is infected may not appear to be sick.
• Do not use illegal drugs or used syringes.
• Also ask your barber to always use a new pair of razors while shaving.
• If you are living with an infected person ,do not use or mix your personal things like razors, tooth brush, earnings, nail clippers etc.
• If you are a medical personal, follow proper procedure for protecting yourself.
• If anyone follow these simple steps, then he/she is likely to avoid this deadly disease and can enjoy the life.
