Aluminum the most useful element
Aluminum is one of the most abundant elements found on earth that’s why we use aluminum in every manufacture. For example doors, windows, wires, cans, automobiles etc are made up of aluminum. Almost every kitchen tool like spoon, fork and even pots are made up of aluminum. Paint colors also contain aluminum.

Aluminum is second most abundant element after the iron. It’s utilization, economic value and quantity comes at the second place after the iron. It comes at the third position after the nonmetals oxygen and nitrogen. Aluminum is not found in its free state. Aluminum exists as aluminum silicate in nature. Aluminum silicate contains one or more metal, silicon, oxygen, and hydrogen. Extraction of aluminum from aluminum silicate is a difficult and expensive process. Therefore we use another ore of aluminum bauxite. Bauxite is an impure hydrated aluminum oxide.

Properties of aluminum are given below that make it a popular industrial material.

1. Aluminum is very light in weight but very durable and elastic. Experimentally, aluminum is one third weigh less than steel for the same volume. Because of these properties, aluminum is best use in packaging like food packaging. Cans used for beverages are made up of aluminum. One more thing, these aluminum cans could be made thinner than two pages of a glossy magazine. It could prevent the pressure more than three times of a car tier. These paper thinned cans are able to hold more than 90 pounds per square pressure.

2. Despite its low tensile strength or elasticity, it readily combines with other elements to form alloys. Some of the useful alloys contain copper, zinc, manganese, magnesium.

3. Aluminum’s lightness and strength make it the best material for transportation which increases the mobility and energy conservation. Aluminum alloys are used in aircrafts, railroad cars, and automobiles and for other applications.

4. With aluminum's prominence in several industries such as food packaging, transportation, construction, electronics and machinery, who would have thought that it can even be seen when you look at a mirror?

5. When aluminum is evaporated in vacuum, it forms thin layers of aluminum oxide that reflect light. These layers of aluminum oxide are then placed at the back surfaces of mirrors to smoothen it out and form glossy surfaces.

Nowadays aluminum is more popular for using as a type coating instead of silver because it deterioration period is much less than silver. Maybe has unlucky number 11 but it has surpassed all its metal generation.
