Affects of Heart Disease on Body
Our heart plays a vital role in keeping ourselves healthy. The blood vessels that carry blood to and from the heart must be clear without any blockings and all the valves of the heart must function properly to keep us hale and healthy. But now we come across lots of people who suffer from heart diseases like coronary artery diseases, arrhythmias, angina, cardio myopathy, and heart stroke and so on.

How does the heart function?

We must know the functioning of circulatory system and the important role played by the heart. The circulatory system supplies the oxygenated blood and nutrients to all over the body with the help of the heart and the blood vessels. The oxygenated blood and the nutrients are very essential for us to survive as all the other systems of our body and the organs depend on the oxygenated blood and the nutrients to function properly.

Effects of malfunctioning of the heart:

If there is a problem in the circulatory system, the blood flow around our body gets disturbed and the overall metabolism of our body gets affected. The most common heart problem we come across is the coronary heart disease. In this disease, the blood vessels get narrower due to the formation of cholesterol plaque on their walls. This makes the blood flow tougher and leads to many critical conditions like stroke, heart attack etc. The blocking or narrowing of blood vessels can affect any of our internal organs like brain, heart and kidneys. It may also affect the intestines which lead to their malfunctioning. The blood vessels supply blood to each and every organ of our body. If there is a disturbance in the blood flow, it is sure to attack the organs of the body and reduce their capacity of functioning.

The blockage in the blood vessels not only affects the internal organs but also the external organs like eyes, legs, arms etc. The arms or legs may face the disability in movement due to the cholesterol plaques in the blood vessels. If there is a defect in the structure of the heart or the large blood vessels of the circulatory system, the heart may stop functioning due to the insufficient supply of oxygenated blood and this condition may lead to the death of the sufferer.

It is always better for us to know the symptoms of the heart attack. We may have a chest pain spreading to the arms, neck, and jaws. You may feel difficulty in breathing. The chest pain may resemble the pain of indigestion. We should not ignore these symptoms as they may be the beginning of a heart attack.
